Bhumijo was a winner under the category of health. Their idea was to renovate existing toilet facilities inside markets for women. They conducted a thorough market research in Dhaka city during the the incubation phase. They selected an existing toilet facility inside the bustling Gawsia market to renovate. Bhumijo has completely renovated the barely functional public toilet into an exclusive facility for women, with support from the market authorities. The initiative received great traction on social media. More importantly, women in Dhaka expressed their satisfaction after using the facility. This facility has been running smoothly since September 2017, serving approximately 120 women every day. Bhumijo is now working with several city corporations in conducting market research and designing some proposed toilet facilities.
